Rabi’a

Rabi’a. I was a later starter in the world of art and perhaps because of this I am now obsessive in a constant need of ‘creating something’. I work in several mediums, mosaics, glass, textiles, vinyl art. My biggest love is welding sculptures using mostly found rusty steel. Visiting scrap yards of all sorts is a favourite activity. Found industrial bits and pieces allow me to create sculptures with an individual whimsy never to be repeated. Many of my sculptures are now enjoyed as public art in Nelson, Castlegar, Kaslo, Creston and in private collections. I love shape, texture, colour and design. Favourite quote by the Persian poet Rumi is ” Let the beauty we love, be what we do. There are hundreds of way to kneel and kiss the ground.”
