Katya Coad is a Slocan Valley artist who paints whimsical garden scenes. Katya’s images, which invoke the viewer to wander down an illusory garden path, function as a metaphor for life (and death). We stop here to explore an unknown twist in the path, or there to take in a curious flower. We savour the succulent fruits along the way, as we head toward our own (and possibly the world’s?) inevitable sunset. These idyllic landscapes function as a reminder that everything is perfect when we catch a glimpse under the veil.
