Gascan Johnny
Northwestern Ontario native and longtime British Columbia resident John Proulx discovered his passion for art and design back in 2008 in Charlotte Lake.
As a certified Engineering Technician, John (a.k.a. Gascan Johnny) begun his journey as a self-taught sculptor. His rogue method of trial and error has given his works of art a unique edge and a resounding signature aesthetic.
His stone sculptures were both exhibited and sold throughout various local businesses and galleries within the Kootenays, including the Lakelore Gallery in Slocan, B.C., the Chimo Village Gallery in Vernon, B.C., the Richcraft in Kelowna, B.C. and the Factory Gallery in Nelson.
In 2019, he decided to transition into high contract, mixed media ink drawings.
