Natasha Smith

Natasha Smith’s artistic practice involves printmaking, collage, painting and installation. Smith’s most recent work explores the development of visual language and an investigation of her connection to place, using what she terms as a painterly cognitive mapping of landscape.

Smith studied printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Scotland receiving a BA hons. before emigrating to Canada in 1995. Smith has taught design, and mixed media at Kootenay School of the Arts, is on the faculty of Oxygen Art Centre in Nelson BC (where she was a founding member) and travels to teach at Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts and the Red Deer Summer Series. Smith also works in schools as artist in residence in ArtStarts.
